FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions)
What issues or concerns do you work with in counseling? I provide pre-marital counseling, marriage and family therapy, and individual counseling. I encourage emotional, spiritual, and relational growth, and work with issues such as anxiety, depression, relational problems, co-dependency, sexual health (including issues with pornography or intimacy problems in marriage), spiritual abuse, bad church experiences, major life transitions, and challenging family dynamics.
What is your approach? I use a variety of approaches to counseling: family systems, cognitive behavioral therapy, emotionally focused therapy, group therapy, and narrative therapy. Also, I have a certificate and training in Christian sex therapy to help individuals and married couples grow in healthy sexuality. I lean towards a faith-based approach, but my clinical training allows me to work with diverse backgrounds; I'm committed to respecting the beliefs and values of my clients.

I book intake sessions (for up to 90 min.); they will include a time to get to know each other, review of the informed consent, what to expect with counseling, and questions about your presenting concerns.
What are your rates? You can view my current rates here. I want you to feel comfortable with what you're paying for counseling services, so let's talk about it during the first session. Also, I will not bill you for services until you agree in person at your first session. I do have some scholarship rates available.
Will counseling help and how long will it take? It depends on why you are coming to therapy, but counseling can be a safe place to explore your concerns, struggles, problems, longings, and relationships. We can dialogue along the way about the pace and duration of therapy. My desire is to help bring hope, healing, and restoration into your unique situation.
